The drawings are totally wrong....why aren't they naked? Isn't that how mankind was at it's start, and isn't that what WT tells people we will eventually be, right where we started? Hmmm.....

Questions about WT illustrations
by Beck_Melbourne inwhen i was a kid....i used to look at the wt illustrations of paradise conditions and would day dream about life in the new system....i later used this same technique (shame on me) to brain wash bible students.
however...as i grew up lol (apparently!
) the illustrations changed....and became more modern.

IMO WT didn't want to register because they just didn't want to register. The ordinance does not appear to infringe on their right to preach.
Any guesses as to who will win?

I've heard of feverfew being helpful but have not tried it. It sounds like it would be worth a try, especially since the product is available OTC and not through a multilevel thing. The multilevel marketing thing would give you a migraine if you didn't already have one! (No offense intended to anyone who makes their living through multilevel marketing - I'm just not cut out for that kind of work.)

no disfellowship for inactive?
by jaccilynn inmy mother was having a moment while she went to visit a friend a few weeks ago, worrying about me being disfellowshiped and having our relationship change.
the sister told my mom, that i could not be disfellowshiped because i am not an active memeber of the congregation.
supposedly, her daughter was a full time pioneer, stopped attending meetings, and realized that she is a lesbian.

I really think the key lies in how much trouble you cause within the congregation. If you don't give them trouble they seem to leave you alone. At least that seems to be what is happening in our case. We did have a shepherding call almost a year ago now where the PO told me that I really couldn't call myself one of 'Jehovah's Witnesses' because I was no longer publishing. And that was whether I went to meetings or not. 'Witness' indicates active involvement with the preaching work. I haven't turned in a service report for almost 4 years - the last time the congregation secretary asked me for one I told him he was asking me to lie and that my conscience wouldn't allow me to do that. (I had stopped going door to door but was still actively speaking about the Bible with co-workers, etc. So he said surely I had some time to report. But I wasn't keeping track of my conversations so I would have had to lie to report.) We have only been shunned by a few. I'm sure we're 'bad association' even tho' we are still moral and honest. And other than association with xJWs (DF'd and DA'd) haven't done anything sinful enough to warrant their judicial attention.
JW Moms like to lay guilt trips - don't buy a ticket! It's not a trip you need to take.

Is this policy in writing anywhere?
by Mulan inmy mother and i have been continually discussing the pedophile issue, and the dateline show.
she insists that there is no official policy of going to the elders first, when this situation occurs in a family.
she said she feels it is a family matter, and she personally, would go to the police first, and let them handle it.

The flock is so trusting of the elders and they have been trained to follow them and not think for themselves. The elders are so good at getting the congregation to look up to them for all things, especially problems.
BTW Mulan, don't know if I had a chance to tell you that my dad told us that the Othello elders didn't handle Erica's case properly, as if it were some kind of 'reason' why this has grown to scandolous proportions. He agreed with us that JW children are vulnerable to pedophiles but did not offer solutions to improving their protection. He went so far as telling me the elders are 'damned if they do and damned if they don't' as if that were an excuse. I wanted to smack him! You know how well respected he is in his little corner of the circuit. People trust him because he is a 'spiritual man.' My translation of that is that he follows the club rules almost perfectly. So even if it isn't written in the OM book, if it is 'suggested' he has made it law and the congregation will follow it. And that is why the congregation reports to the elders and not the police.
Thank you for letting me rant and rave...I get sooooo annoyed sometimes. [>:(]

Isn't it a pain? I thought maybe I could get away, but no, they are everywhere and they know all my extended family. I haven't been to a meeting for about 3 years, and there are so many new ones moved in here, I figured I would be safe. Was I ever wrong! And all I want to do is to quietly fade away. It's getting harder to do all the time.

Would just like the Dubs to ignore me, pretend that I don't exist. Glad I didn't say anything about the birthday because after talking to the owner discovered she is one of the new Dubs who moved into our area. Said she was good friends with my husband's sister-in-law. When she found out I was related to Witnesses she couldn't stop talking. What are the chances in a big town that you will run in the Dubs? why does it seem there are so many of them concentrated here? It is so annoying!

Andi - my daughter, who is quarter Japanese, also has had some episodes with irregular heartbeat. She was only 16 when it started. We finally figured out that it was stress and anxiety coupled with caffeine and sugar. She's learned some relaxation stuff since then, quit the caffeine, and is careful with the sugar. And she avoids MSG. I'm healthy otherwise too, as long as I stay away from MSG. It's taken years for my mom to believe that her 'ajinomoto' would be causing me difficulty. But it's in everything. I really miss crunchy cheetos, and rice crackers. You might try avoiding foods with MSG for a week and see what happens. I haven't given up Whoppers at Burger King, plain fries - they don't seem to put MSG on the burgers or plain fries. Let me know if you want more info on safe fast foods, I think I've figured out which places are MSG free and which are not. Glad you're headache hasn't come back.
